Grass Fire Spreads to Banning Hotels

A grass fire catches two hotels on fire in Banning, forcing evacuations.

The blaze was visible from Interstate 10.

The fire started at 3pm Sunday near the 1600 block of Wilson Street.
It started as a half acre of grass, and then caught the attic of a nearby motel on fire.
Firefighters say no one was hurt, but say they did have to evacuate people from the hotel.
Sixty firefighters with 12 engines battled the blaze.
There's no word yet on what caused the fire.
