CIF Playoff Brackets Announced, Local Teams Chasing Title

Posted: Updated:

Sunday morning the hotly anticipated CIF Playoff brackets were revealed with 4 of our valley teams getting set to chase a title in 4 separate divisions. Games are Friday 11/11 and kickoff is 7:30 pm.

Here's a quick look at each team's opponents...

Division 4: Palm Springs Indians (7-3) host Colony (7-3) ... The Indians early season struggles turned into a solid back end of the year as they won 6 of their final 7 games and finished 2nd in the DVL. The Colony Titans, also the 2nd place team in their league (Mt. Baldy), have won 4 in a row, but are 1-3 away from their Ontario home. They boast a big-time runner in Nathan Tilford who's scored 29 TDs and rushed for more than 1,700 yards.

Division 5: La Quinta Blackhawks (7-3) host Redlands (5-5) ... The Terriers beat the Palm Springs Indians to start the season - but had to forfeit the 42-7 win due to ineligible players. They have a fairly balanced offense, scoring 21 touchdowns on the ground and 25 through the passing game.

Division 11: Montebello (9-1) hosts Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs (7-3) ... The Arabs will travel some 2 hours to southeast LA to face the Oilers who went unbeaten in league play, have allowed 21 points in their last 6 games combined and only allowed a little over 5 points per game on average. The Arabs offense will need to be at it's best to notch an upset.

Division 12: Rancho Mirage (8-2) hosts Los Amigos (6-4) ... The Rattlers are the #2 seed and host the Lobos out of Fountain Valley. The Lobos don't have much of a passing attack, but boast 2 seniors who've rushed for more than 1,000 yards on the season and combined for 31 scores.
