Tennessee Pastor Walking Across Country; In The High Desert Today & Tomorrow

Yucca Valley, CA -  Tennessee Pastor Walter "Chick" McGill, a 69 year-old Vietnam Veteran, is conducting the first coast-to-coast national prayer-walk in US history, carrying a large American flag and saluting every passing motorist on the walk route as a gesture of honor and respect for his fellow Americans.

This prayer-walk will reach Twentynine Palms on Monday, April 6th, Joshua Tree Tuesday, April 7th, and Yucca Valley Wednesday, April 8th.

The pastor is praying for our nation and each community along the walk route.  He will dedicate the Twentynine Palms segment of the trek to the servicemen and women of the United States Marine Corp.

This pedestrian journey has covered nearly 3,000 miles so far, and once the project is completed, McGill's flag will be the first ever to be hand-carried "from sea to shining sea" by a veteran.

Pastor McGill expects to reach his final destination, Santa Monica Pier in California, on April 29th of this year after walking more than 3,200 miles.
