    We first reported yesterday about a Pit Bull Puppy stolen from the Palm Springs Animal Shelter. Today, we learned the puppy was found safe late last night at a residence in Cathedral City.  Cathedral City Police Department put out this press release this afternoon:  On August 28th, 2014, at about 1130 hrs, CCPD Officers responded to the 68100 block of Estio Road, Cathedral City, regarding information that was received about a stolen dog from the Palm Springs Animal Shelter.

    A 54-year-old man was arrested today on suspicion he raped a woman, authorities said Police responded to a report of a sexual assault at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of West San Rafael Drive, where a woman told them she was attacked by transient Steven Michael Evans, Palm Springs police Sgt. Harvey Reed said.

    Two firefighters were injured and several structures damaged or destroyed today in a brush fire east of Corona. The Hillside Fire was reported around 4 p.m. at the intersection of Hillside Street and Quebec Avenue, in the unincorporated community of El Cerrito, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
